We are officially launching a new uberVU widget. This widget will sit in your sidebar and display some nice little graphs with your distributed community and the latest messages updated in real-time.

Why another blog widget? Because our widget helps you measure and grow your blog community. We get comments about your content from all over the Web and bring them back to your blog for you and your visitors to see and interact with. We put a number on your community so you can see if it’s growing or not.

You think there’s not much action on your blog right now? Think again! The action might be happening on Twitter and FriendFeed. With the uberVU widget, you find that out in real time from the comfort of your own blog. You can easily go where the action is, interact and bring people back to your blog and community.

Enough words. Let’s go to work.

Step one

Go to Tools (there is a link in the header and footer) and there click on Configure blog widget (the big green button…you can not miss it).

The first step of the process is about deciding what type of info do you want your widget to display. You have to option:

• your blog. In this case you should enter the URL. This will analyze all the comments from all over the social web (the blog, Twitter, FriendFeed, Mixx, Digg etc) related to posts from that blog.
• a keyword. If you have a corporate blog where people aren’t so engaged you will be better of by entering a keyword like your company name. In this case the widget will be feed with posts and social media comments from all over the web as along as they mention the keyword (not just around your blog)

Step two

Chose from our “large variety” of skins. You can choose the white one or the black one. One works best for a light-skinned blog and one for a dark themed one.

Step three

Get the java script code and insert it in your sidebar.
