When you’re venturing out in the summer heat, how do you decide which brand of bottled water to bring with you? If you love social media like us, this week’s Social Media Face Off will help you decide. We’re putting Nestlé Pure Life and Poland Spring head-to-head to see which brand is best quenching the social web’s thirst.
In order to compare the brands on social, we set up search streams for each brand in the uberVU platform, including variations in spelling (e.g. “nestlé pure life,” “nestle purelife” and “nestle pure life”). We’ve compared the results from the past two weeks to determine our winner.

Round One: Mentions
Poland Spring takes the early lead with 1,513 mentions, easily outperforming Nestlé Pure Life’s 310 mentions. That’s almost five times as many mentions!

In round two we’ll dive deeper into the mentions to see the sentiment behind them. Which water brand is garnering more positive mentions? Nestlé Pure Life comes out on top with 31% of its mentions registering as positive, beating out Poland Spring’s 29%. Nestlé Pure Life also had a smaller amount of negative mentions—8% compared to Poland Spring’s 22%
